meaqam home carries curated solid wood furniture. Every piece is made after the order — there is no warehouse. This page shows the space we curate from, and says what is not settled yet.

The stance

Three sentences that hold for every piece

No warehouse

Every piece is made after the order. No leftovers, no clearance, no goods waiting for someone.

Curated, not catalogued

We carry selected pieces. A complete furniture catalogue is explicitly not the goal — the selection is the work.

Only what is evidenced

The same rule as with the clothing: what we cannot evidence is not written here. With furniture, that is the promise everything depends on.

Solid wood — and three species we can name.

The name of the wood can be verified. Colour, density and grain are not stated here: wood is a natural material, and we do not promise what we have not seen ourselves.

How a piece comes about

Four steps, one of them open

  1. 01 · Selection

    We choose what fits meaqam. What does not convince us stays out of the shop — even when it would sell well.

  2. 02 · Measurements

    Width, depth and height are recorded before a piece enters the shop. Furniture without measurements cannot be bought: the measurement decides whether it fits.

  3. 03 · Making

    Making starts only after the order, in the workshop that builds the piece. That takes longer than a stocked item — and it is the reason there is no warehouse.

  4. 04 · Delivery

    The way to you is the part still open: transit time, freight for bulky goods and — for Switzerland — customs and import tax. What a partner promises us is not yet a promise from meaqam.

The check

Before a piece may enter the shop

Five facts. If one is missing, the piece stays out — that is decided by the check, not by taste.

  1. 01Measurements — width, depth and height, as far as the piece has them
  2. 02Price — calculated, not derived from a purchase price
  3. 03Maker — who builds it is stated on the piece
  4. 04Contract — what the maker promises is in writing
  5. 05Image rights — we are allowed to show what we show

What is not settled today

Every line here is a fact we will not invent.

Measurements
For the pieces under consideration no measurements are published. They go onto the piece once someone has recorded them.
Prices
A purchase price in a foreign currency is not a selling price: exchange rate, freight, customs and margin sit in between.
Transit time and freight
For furniture crossing the border there is neither a promised transit time nor a freight price. Both come from a contract, not from an estimate.
Switzerland
Switzerland is not part of the EU. Customs and import tax are a separate procedure there, and they appear here only once they are settled.

No sale, no pre-order

There are no prices and no cart here, and we do not take pre-orders either: money for a piece whose measurements and delivery date are not settled would be a promise we cannot keep today.
